PSG former Defender jean-Pierre Adams has given up the ghost after 39 years in coma.

Jean-Pierre Adams, a former French international player, died in a coma nearly 40 years after a medical error  His former clubs, Paris Saint-Germain and Nimes, have confirmed.

Adams took nearly lethal doses of anesthetics before routine knee surgery in 1982, causing brain damage.


Adams, born in Dakar, won 22 appearances for Les Blius in the 1970s and formed a known "Black Guard" with Marius Tresso.


He played for Nim since 1970-73 and PSG after joining Nice in 1977-79.

Adams has been taken care of by his wife Bernadette after refusing to choose euthanasia since the accident.
