Thomas Tuchel explains why Mason Mount captains Chelsea for the second time
Thomas Tutchell explained why Mason Munter will lead Chelsea to the quarter-finals of their FA Cup with Sheffield United.
If the Blues can beat the blades that have fought all season, they will have the opportunity to reserve a place in the first four famous games.
Tucher just made nine changes to Sheffield United's visit in the backstage of the brilliant Champions League in midweek. Only Matteo Kovacić and Kurt Zuma maintained their positions in the lineup.
Mount was suspended for defeating Atlético Madrid 2-0. He was one of the starting players of the Blues. Although he was the fourth youngest player on Tuchell, he was appointed captain.
However, the Chelsea coach insisted that his age had nothing to do with his decision to choose the 22-year-old captain, and explained why he already had leadership qualities.
Tatcher told BBC One before kick-off: "Obviously, our captain is not on the court, Azpi, Giorginho, Tiago Silva and Ngolo, so Mason is already the captain of the FA Cup round, so we maintain his momentum.
He deserves that leadership is not a matter of age. He has everything he needs to lead the team in this game. I'm happy for him. I'm sure he will show up."
This is Mante's second time captain of Chelsea in the fourth round of defeating Lutontown. Mount played an important role in starting life at Tamford Bridge, although there were some questions about how the German would take over the midfielder.
The England international stayed in the head coach's first game against Wolverhampton Wanderers, which raised some questions about his role in the team.
However, since remaining on the bench, Mount has started 9 of the 13 games so far.
