Thomas Tuchel  insists that Tiago Silva does not need to prove himself, because he expects another "top performance" from the Brazilian against West Bromwich Albion when he returns to the team on Saturday.

Silva, 36, has been out in recent weeks after being injured in the thigh, but Tutcher confirmed that he can choose to play against the Pigs.

Silva has been a key part of the improvement of Blues' defense record since his arrival last summer, and he will get a new contract at the end of the season when his initial year's contract expires.

Tuchel  said that Silva was absent from the battlefield due to injury, and there was nothing to prove.

He said, "He doesn't have to prove anything to me. I know him. He's my captain in Paris. he's an outstanding professional player. The first is at the training ground, and the last one goes. He keeps his weight at home. I know what he does to get fit.

His age doesn't play the greatest role in my judgment, because he is easily 28 or 29. He is very careful and can play this kind of ball. I think it's very brave to take this step at the end of your career. At this stage of your career, when some players relax a little, take a step towards Chelsea.

Once he issues a green light, as a manager, you can absolutely be sure that it's green. He's ready for tomorrow. I'm only looking forward to a top show.
