With Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea had a chance to set the record straight and build an empire.
Thomas Tutchel and Chelsea reached the peak of club football when they defeated Manchester City to improve the Champions League. The Germans turned the troubled Chelsea into a tactical machine in four months.
Winning the championship at Chelsea is a happy moment, but the real challenge begins after that. Next season, Tacher entered Chelsea's most dangerous waters. We've been to this intersection many times before. Many times, things go quickly and the manager is fired.
Together with Tuchel, Chelsea has the opportunity to clarify records and build an empire. Stanford Bridge loyalists yearn for continuity and challenging the appropriate items of the trophy on multiple fronts and in the league.
Let's see what Tutcher and the board of directors need to do in terms of the transfer market, seconded army and college.
Tuchell and the Blues entered the summer window with several targets. As the striker tries to seize the opportunity last season, the striker seems to be a priority. Tammy Abraham's time at the club is over, and Olivier Gjirud seems to be on his way. I'm sorry to see two capable forwards leave, but it's true that the ships set sail three months ago.
Erin Harland and Romelu Lukaku are reported to be Chelsea' targets this summer. Interestingly, however, most news shows that for some reason, the club still focuses on signing the full-back.
Ahlav Hakimi talked about the town in June. Don't get me wrong now; Hakimi is a world-class full-back, perhaps the best in the world. Do we really need him, however? Just a season ago, Chelsea fans drooled Reese James and hyped him for the next major event in Britain. All of a sudden, no one seems to be arranged as a center-back like James to adapt to Hakimi's problems.
Another important thing that needs to be noted is that James has not much chance to be a full-back. In most of last season's major games (except the Champions League finals), Tacher decided to adopt a conservative attitude and defeat Azpiliquita. However, in several key games played by James as a full-back, he was absolutely on fire; just ask Benjamin Mendy of Manchester City.
There is also a debate about Chelsea's interest in Adama Troll. Recent reports say Chelsea is really interested in signing him. Many fans believe that if Traoré comes cheaply, he may become a major addition to the team. However, I don't agree. Buying world-class full-backs like Hakimi still makes sense to some extent, even at the expense of James and his aggressive output (and the outlook of the college). However, it makes no sense to settle down a team like Traoré for the sake of "depth".
If Tutcher wants to go deep into the full-back position, he should look at the college and hire the army. Valentino Livlamento may prove to be an excellent substitute, and his first-team time will be invaluable to his future. Again, before you call me to hype up young people, it's important to understand that Livlamento was unstoppable last season. He was the Player of the Year.
